How can we serve the ‘stranger’? Mark and Rabbi Erica Gerson selflessly serve those not of their faith alongside missionaries who are not of their faith. In this podcast, Mark and Erica discuss the charitable work they do to help people in Africa receive the medical care that they need. Mark Gerson is a co-founder of African Mission Healthcare and the host of the podcast, the Rabbi’s Husband. He and his wife, Rabbi Erica Gerson, founded the L’Chaim Prize, an annual award for Outstanding Christian Medical Missionary Service.

Some of the questions asked of Mark and Erica on the podcast include:
* How does your faith play a role in your humanitarian efforts?
* Why support Christian hospitals?
* Have you experienced tension in the Jewish community due to your gifts to Christian organizations?
* What benefits have you’ve seen from working with those of other faiths toward a common cause?
*What would you both say are your favorite verses from the Torah?

More about the Gersons:

Their work resonates with the powerful belief that “saving one life is akin to saving the world.”
